the 1st day of every calendar month. If you pay before

prefer paying from our statements and do not choose to pay early nor

Please understand that payments must
be received before, not on, the 1st
day of each month and you must have no balance due in order to
receive
the discount.
Tuition is the same each
month and does not change due to holidays. Monthly tuition is an
average of 4 lessons per month. Tuition will not be refunded,
credited, or prorated in the case of absence(s).
There will be a $25
service charge for any returned check. Checks must be picked up at
the studio office
with repayment in cash or money order with the $25
service charge included. Automatic credit card accounts may be set
up in the office.

Missed Classes
For each child’s safety
and comfort as well as those of our instructors, we cannot allow sick
children to
attend class. A child who becomes ill will be isolated
and the parent notified to promptly pick him or her up.
If you
know in advance you will miss a class, please notify our office.
The office will be able to inform you
of the availability of another
class in which you may make up the missed class. No special
classes will be
scheduled for make-ups. No make-up lessons will be
allowed in the spring semester due to recital rehearsals.
When you take a
make-up class, be sure the pick up an admission pass in the office to
give to the
instructor.

Withdrawal Policy
Notice to withdraw from
any class must be submitted to the front desk on a “Memorial Dance
Center
Withdrawal Form” by the 1st of the month prior to
withdrawal in order to stop tuition for the next month. Failure to
do so will make you liable for the next subsequent months’ tuition.
Also, be aware that
reenrollment will require the payment of another
registration fee unless arrangements have been made
in advance for
special cases such as long-term illness, vacation, etc. In
addition, the student's enrollment will be terminated by Memorial Dance
Center if he/she misses 4 consecutive classes without prior notice to
the office of absences. Parents will be responsible for any and
all tuition up to the date that the student's enrollment is terminated.

Classes
Initial placement in
dance classes is determined at registration and is based on the
student’s age and experience. Our staff will evaluate students
during the first few weeks of class to ensure proper placement.
Ballet is the foundation for all
forms of dance and is strongly recommended for all dancers. Barre work,
center floor and across the floor exercises allow the dancer to focus on
body placement, balance and proper technique.
Tap is a stage dance in which rhythmic patterns are sounded
by the toes and heels striking the floor. Tap
is a style of
American theatrical dance using precise, rhythmical patterns of foot
movement and audible foot tapping. This class is fun and
challenging for dancers at every level.
Jazz dance is a stylized and technical form of dance that
requires a ballet foundation. In order to steadily
build on our
dancer’s repertoire, a wide range of technical elements and combinations
are presented during class. From traditional to commercial jazz,
this ever-broadening form of dance allows students to develop
a strong
sense of artistic expression.
Hip-hop is a class focusing on a “street” style of dance and
teaches the newest moves that are popular
with young people today.
Hip-hop dancing is evolving in many different directions, heavily
influenced by
the evolution of hip hop music and music videos.
Music and movement used in our hip-hop classes are
carefully chosen to
be content and age appropriate.
Pointe or "on pointe," is on the tips of the toes--literally.
Children should not be allowed to go on pointe
until the bones of their
feet are fully developed. This classical form of ballet is geared
towards the more
serious, technically trained dancers.
